Four coins, cross-referenced by purpose. Monero is the privacy default and the coin to reach for when the reason you are on Tor is that you do not want the transaction legible afterward. Bitcoin covers the vendors who have not moved on. Litecoin handles small orders where Bitcoin fees are out of proportion. Ethereum covers the single case where that is what you hold and converting first is friction you would rather avoid.
Note the distinction the entry insists on: Ethereum buys convenience, not privacy. Its ledger is as public as Bitcoin's.
